Control Systems and Engineering Centre
DTEC PRO’s Control Systems and Engineering Centre in Bideford, opened in February 2026 and was established to provide clients with a complete in-house solution for control systems, industrial automation, electrical engineering and control panel manufacture. Supporting clients across Devon, Cornwall, Somerset, the South West and throughout the UK, our specialist facility provides control panel design and manufacture, PLC programming, HMI development, automation solutions, electrical design, software engineering, offsite build, system testing, commissioning, upgrades and ongoing maintenance.
With over 100 years of combined engineering experience, our team has extensive knowledge of industrial control systems, PLC and HMI systems, process automation, electrical control panels, instrumentation and control, telemetry and mechanical and electrical engineering, with particular expertise supporting the water and wastewater industry, as well as wider industrial and commercial applications.
From initial concept and control system design through to software development, panel manufacture, Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT), installation and commissioning, DTEC PRO can manage the complete control system lifecycle from one dedicated engineering facility. Carrying out design, manufacture, programming and testing in-house also allows systems to be developed and tested offsite before installation, helping to reduce site disruption and commissioning time.
Our control and automation engineers work closely with clients to understand their operational requirements and identify opportunities to improve process efficiency, optimise plant performance, increase reliability and reduce operational costs. This can include the development of new control and automation systems as well as PLC, HMI and control panel upgrades, modifications and lifecycle support for existing installations.
